Linari is a medieval monastery located in the wonderful Montagnola area 8 km southwest of Siena. Built in the llth century, it was converted to a grand country 500 years later by renowned Sienese architect Baldassarre Peruzzi.
The present owner has transformed the villa into a Residence with 20 self-catering apartments of varying sizes.
The apartments, furnished with antiques and traditional Tuscan furniture have modern kitchens and bathrooms. While some are more luxurious than others, they are all bright and comfortable. Our guests enjoy 2 swimming pools (one for children), a tennis court (lessons possible) and table tennis. A poolside snack bar is open during the summer season. In addition, there are lovely grounds for dining, lounging or playing ball.
We arrange tours of Chianti, Orcia Valley, San Gimignando and Volterra, tours of Brunello, tours of Siena and of Florence, tours of crystal, cooking lessons and course of ceramic, hiking and biking in Tuscany, horseback riding, hot air ballooning, tours of oil & truffle, canoeing, hang gliding, quad trips, offroad trips, sail boating with skipper visiting the Tuscan archipelago.

We also offer transfer service (Siena, Florence, Milan - centre or airport, Rome, Venice, Bologna, San Gimignano etc. from 1 to 8 people with guide), helicopter service, Smart car rental service. All the excursions, lessons and tours are arranged at the Residence. Our driving-guides will pick you up directly at the Residence and take you to the departure point of the tour/lesson and back unless otherwise stated.
In 2004 Linari opened the Beauty and Wellness Centre in the ancient cellars of the villa. The beautifully remodeled space includes a sauna, jacuzzi, hamman, balneothalasso and a chromotheraputic shower. Also offered are a variety of beauty treatments including massage (relaxing, shiatsu, detoxing), facials, body treatments, manicures and yoga. We also have weekly programs, week end and daily spa packages.
In the Centre, we have dedicated a comfortable old room where guests can gather, enjoy a drink or simply relax. Linari is in a perfect situation for today's travellers, on the doorstep of Siena, in glorious countryside, yet within easy reach of all the historic cities of Tuscany. The nearest village of San Rocco a Pilli, five minutes drive away, is well supplied with a supermarket and shops.
